WELCOME TO PROJECT ADVENTURE KIDS!

Project Adventure Kids (a 5013c non-profit) is a residential program that has been improving homeless, neglected, abused, at-risk Georgia teen’s lives since 1981.

We have shown that our program teaches these teens the value of teamwork, respect for others and personal responsibility using the tools of Adventure (ropes courses) and Group Therapy (click here to learn more).

This revolutionary approach is not only helping the teens to move past their problems, but also empowering them to communicate authentically, make smart decisions and take responsibility for themselves and their peers. The work being done here not only benefits the kids but each and every person they come into contact with!

Project Adventure Kids youth live in 14 group homes in the Covington, Georgia area. We have 100 kids (ages 11 to 21 years old) and provide them with food, clothing, educational services, medical needs, counseling, job and life skills training, and recreational activities.

Recently, an Atlanta psychologist, Andrew Gothard, said his study of our kids shows that the vast majority of them appear to love Project Adventure Kids! Many of the kids said that the best thing that has ever happened to them was when they got to Project Adventure Kids. Dr. Gothard said this aspect of the program’s success is something he has not seen or heard of in other group homes or residential programs throughout the state of Georgia.
